LGR Simpsonville BoothLiving Green Recycling would like to give thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth and signed up at the Simpsonville Fall Festival.  The event was a huge success in terms of new customer signups (11) and the material we were able to recover.  LGR used our event recycling containers and by the amount of plastic bottles and aluminum cans we collected the patrons really utilized them.

We will be setting up our Sign-Up Booth and recycling containers at the Finchville Fall Festival this weekend, so stop by and say hello.

Thanks again for all the support!!!!

Contact Us

The past few weeks for Living Green has been hectic as we continue to grow in subscribers as well as maintaining our current customers. We are currently approaching 125 customers, which include several local factories, businesses and residential customers stretching across all areas of the county.

The Shelbyville Horseshow was fantastic and we are very pleased with how the community responded with the event recycling containers we used for the event. Special thanks to the Shelbyville Country Club swim-team and Harper Kelly, who helped oversee the kids, who came and assisted LGR for the four-day event.

The four day event saw some of the largest weekend crowds the show had ever seen. The event was a huge success environmentally, based on the amounts of recyclable material that we collected.  We are looking forward to our next event in September with the Simpsonville Fall Festival.

LGR would also like to thank Torrey Smith and Smith Realty for his support and willingness to help Shelby County grow as a community.

Please contact us anytime to start your curbside recycling service.

Shelbyville Horse Show 2009

Living Green Recycling has volunteered to help the Shelby County Horse Show ”Go Green” this year.  LGR will be handling all the recyclable items at the 2009 event.  We applaud the Horse Show Board on making a commitment to making an effort to reduce the huge volume of waste that such a large event generates.  The Board recognizes the importance of recycling and the impact that they will have in this four-day event, while establishing themselves as leaders in helping Shelby County become a “greener” community.

Living Green Recycling will provide all recycling containers for the event and will oversee the operation from start to finish while working with the volunteers who take great pride on making the Horse Show Shelby County’s grandest event of the year.  Living Green Recycling is interested in helping the community in as many ways as possible and gives special thanks to all the subscribers who have signed up for our curbside service.

With the support from our current customers, Living Green Recycling can continue to give  back to events like this and looks forward to helping other programs in the future.  Please visit our booth at the horse show and learn more about us and the recycling options we can offer.

Thanks,

LGR

Making a Difference Already!

This picture was taken Wednesday afternoon July 8th.  The photo above is one of our collection bags we use in the truck when we pick-up and sort the material.  This bag has approx. two days worth of plastics that we collected on the route.  PLASTICS ONLY!  This bag is sitting on a 12′ long trailer to help put it in perspective.  Think about the amount everyone is keeping out of the landfills and how this material will be processed and put back into the recycling circulation of new products .  Way to go Shelby County…..this is just the beginning!

Next time you see owner and operator Jeff Long out in the street, sorting recycling at the truck, let him know what a difference he is making.  Great job Jeff!

LGR Collection Truck

Living Green Recycling has put the finishing touches on the collection vehicle we will use to transport the recyclable material we collect on our routes.

The collection vehicle appropriately named,  “The Green Machine” will make sorting the recyclables easier and allow us to pick-up larger quantities.  The material will be sorted at the truck and then be delivered to the Shelby County Recycling Center where we will work in conjunction with the current staff.

The “Green Machine” will be hitting the streets this week delivering the collection bins, information packet and looking for new sign-ups.  If you are interested in signing up, please proceed so we can add you to the existing collection route. Contact us anytime (502) 321-3834 or www.lg-rec.com.

Thanks,

Living Green Recycling would like to thank all of our supporters and clients who have signed up and are ready to start “Living Green”.  The business is in the process of finalizing our collection vehicle and waiting on the arrival of our custom collection bins.

When the bins arrive we will be contacting everyone who is currently signed up and arrange to meet with the homeowner or business owner to provide them with a packet of information that will assist them with our service.

LGR is currently mapping out its collection route and schedule of collection days based on locale and participation.  We are planning to serve the entire county and make this service available to all.

Living Green is asking for anyone who is going to sign-up, please proceed with the online service request form at www.lg-rec.com.  If this is not convenient or applicable please contact Jeff Long at (502)321-3834 and he will be glad to take your info and submit the form for you.

Living Green Curbside Recycling

Living Green Recycling will begin its operation in Shelby County the first or second week of July. We are looking forward to getting this business going and to start making a difference in our community.

Originally our plans were to wait until we reached a certain number of subscribers, since then we have decided to go ahead and start our business and begin collections to let the public know that actions are louder than words. The community has expressed interest in our program and we believe when customers see our operation firsthand that the word will spread.

Please visit our website www.lg-rec.com or call us at (502) 321-3834 to learn more about our business and how you can help make a difference!
